2025 UN Peace Summit Bangkok
by Rand Blimes
The UN’s Peace Summit is part of a set of programs instigated by the UN several years ago to do more to prepare young people for leadership roles. The Peace Summit specifically focuses on helping students build peace in their communities, countries, and internationally, and it therefore directly supports President McKay’s prophetic statement about men and women going forth from Laie to establish peace internationally. BYUH students have attended the Peace Summit in the past, and it has always been a meaningful experience for the students. The summit is a chance to learn, network, and be inspired to take action to make a difference in the world. Students who attend the Peace Summit are designated UN peace ambassadors and commit to undertake a project to help build peace within one year of the completion of the summit.
