Are These Three Colors Turning Off Your Customers?

Colors can attract or turn away customers, read which ones are not attractive.

“93% of consumers place color and appearance above other factors when making a buying decision,” according to Insider. That means you may be turning away every 93 out of 100 people when you choose the wrong colors. Different colors can affect your customers in certain ways that can be very beneficial or very negative. Choosing which color scheme you use for your website may not be life or death exactly, but it can affect the outcome greatly.

Here are several colors to avoid:

  • Brown; this color is very hard to utilize in any branding. On a color scheme, brown can be very difficult to match with other colors, and not many companies have pulled off this color.
  • Bright colors; having extremely bright colors are distracting and are easy to pull the focus off your logo or anything else that color might be attached to. Avoid using brighter colors as they tend to make your site look less professional.
  • Red; red is often associated with anger, blood, and other negative connotations. Though McDonald’s and school cafeterias love using red, this one should be considered only very carefully if it is going to be used.
