Ligia Valencia

Fall 2023, BYU Law School

“BYUH’s diverse community has allowed me to understand different perspectives in different areas of law. In law school, we are always collaborating with different personalities and opinions. But, BYUH prepared me by teaching me the skills to collaborate with others effectively and in a way that allows everyone’s opinion to be heard and understood. Grad school is much different than undergrad but it really allows you to develop the base skills you learn in undergrad. At the same time, it pushes you outside your comfort zone and pushes you to try other activities you haven’t considered. I’m currently on the board for the Student Bar Association, the Minority Law Students Association, the Latinx Law Student Association, and a current member of the moot court (which deals with appellate work and arguing in front of judges).”
