Hands-On Learning Opportunities

Students in the program gain practical, career-focused experience through three major hands-on learning opportunities designed to build real-world skills and strengthen their professional resumes.

The first is the Asia Sourcing Entrepreneurship Experience, where students travel to Asia countries like South Korea, China, Philippines and/or Vietnam and Oceania Countries like Australia and New Zealand to gain direct exposure to global sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and entrepreneurship. Students interact with suppliers, manufacturers, and business leaders while learning how international supply chains operate in real business environments. This experience develops practical skills in sourcing, negotiation, communication, project management, and cross-cultural collaboration.

The second experience involves semester-long consulting and applied business projects completed for real organizations. Students work on actual operational and supply chain challenges, analyze business data, develop recommendations, and present measurable results to partnering organizations. These projects provide students with reportable outcomes and professional experience they can add directly to their resumes and discuss during interviews.

The third experience is the creation of a personal Global Sourcing and Logistics Manual. Throughout the program, students develop their own professional resource guide containing sourcing strategies, logistics processes, supplier management tools, operational frameworks, and industry insights. Because students are the authors of their own manual, it becomes both a valuable professional reference and a unique portfolio piece that can be showcased during internships and job interviews.
