Political Science Mentoring
Introduction
The Political Science Program sponsors two mentoring initiatives. Each enjoys support from the Faculty of Business & Government, as well as support from the President's Council of BYUH. Political science majors and minors are strongly encouraged to participate in initiative leadership and activities. Students from other majors may also join.
Political Science Peer Mentoring Network
Begun in the fall of 2020 during the pandemic, the Political Science Peer Mentoring Network offers interested political science students access to experienced peer mentors. Peer mentors, recruited from a deep pool of successful political science majors, are paid to help others understand course material and readings, complete homework assignments, organize their time/energies/tasks, and develop vital social connections with other students. The Political Science Peer Mentoring Network is not a tutoring lab. It builds strong relations between students as they work together for the success of all. Contact the Political Science Program lead for details.

Political Science Alumni Mentoring Initiative
Begun in fall 2021, the Political Science Alumni Mentoring Initiative connects current BYUH students with successful Political Science Program alumni. Zoom-based forums and Q/A sessions offer students invaluable tips, networking, counsel, and advice. Our political science alumni harbor deep commitment to BYU–Hawaii and its mission. Their eagerness to share time and expertise is both inspiring and motivating. Forums are held at least twice a month. Watch the political science calendar for details.
